In the Gas Chromatography section of the Chemical and Biological Hazards Department state-of-the-art analysis methods are used to analyse samples for organic hazardous substances and to determine the atmospheric concentrations of these organic gases and vapours. The focus lies in particular upon the following hazardous substance categories:
Gas chromatography (following solvent desorption) is used in conjunction with a range of detector systems. It is employed in combination with thermal desorption for the analysis of indoor atmospheric samples.
