The DVUA branch responsible for the country concerned should be contacted and the relevant documentation (e.g. A1 insurance certificate, European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), E 123 or DA1 entitlement document) should be attached. The DVUA branch will assume responsibility for the rest of the treatment procedure and – provided that the person is entitled to the temporary provision of care by way of benefits in kind – it will provide such benefits. After the treatment has been completed, it will reclaim the expenses incurred from the competent foreign institution. Further information can be found in the information sheet on the temporary provision of assistance in the form of benefits in kind.
