Supranational and intergovernmental relations also affect the law on statutory accident insurance. The increasing cross-border mobility of employees, students, trainees and pupils raises a multitude of questions (e.g. which legislative provisions are applicable in cross-border situations). Those questions can be resolved with the help of provisions of supranational and intergovernmental law. The DGUV is regularly involved in the development and conception of those provisions. This means that, for difficulties that arise in practice, it is in a position to introduce pioneering approaches to resolving them in the legislative process.
